Photo Thermal Infra-Red Detector detects smoke, while a thermal element provides rate-of-rise and fixed temperature heat sensing and an infra-red sensor adds further detection ability. These sensors are plug-in type fire sensors that combine three types of detection capability with addressable communications. These sensors are designed for open area protection and must only be connected to control panels that use a compatible proprietary communication protocol for monitoring and control.
