The HVBPIT44 Protocol Interface Translator (PIT) converts Honeywell’s BossWare serial command protocol to various protocols compatible with equipment from other manufacturers. The HVBPIT44 requires a power source of 9 to 20 VAC, 50/60 Hz, or 10 to 28V DC @ 3VA. When the HVBPIT44 units are used within a VideoBloX system, such as with an HVBCPU or HVBLCPU, power is derived from the system through Pin 6 (PWR+) of the slave channel via an RS422 communication cable. Typically, the external power supply is not required. However, if the master channel load is comparatively heavy, the user must disconnect Pin 6 power connection from the slave channel and should use the Honeywell provided +12V dc power supply. This power supply runs on a 100-240Vac input. If the external devices require a higher voltage, another power supply that does not exceed the HVBPIT44 power rating can be utilized.
