What is EcoStruxure™ IT Data Center Expert? EcoStruxure™ IT Data Center Expert (DCE) is a vendor-neutral, on-premises data center infrastructure management (DCIM) solution that provides centralized monitoring, smart alarming, and reporting for physical infrastructure in enterprise and mission-critical data centers. It is part of the EcoStruxure IT DCIM suite of applications, which enables your business to manage their data centers across multiple domains. What technology does EcoStruxure™ IT Data Center Expert use? DCE runs as a hardened on-premises appliance or virtual machine, using real-time data collection, event correlation, and open APIs to deliver reliable monitoring, alarming, and reporting across multi-vendor physical infrastructure. What areas of the data center does EcoStruxure™ IT Data Center Expert help monitor? DCE monitors power, cooling (including liquid cooling through the Motivair integration), environmental conditions, physical security via NetBotz sensors, and device health across multi-vendor data center infrastructure. Who is EcoStruxure™ IT Data Center Expert designed for? DCE is designed for data center operators, IT operations teams, and facilities managers responsible for availability, incident response, and reporting — particularly in enterprise, mission-critical, regulated, and colocation environments. What environments does EcoStruxure™ IT Data Center Expert support? DCE supports on-premises enterprise, colocation, and mission-critical data center environments, deployed as a physical appliance or virtual machine to provide centralized, local monitoring and control. Is EcoStruxure™ IT Data Center Expert available as a subscription? Yes. Starting with DCE 9.0, EcoStruxure™ IT Data Center Expert is offered through a subscription license model managed via the mySchneider Software Management portal, with a simplified set of commercial references that make it easier to deploy, scale, and renew. How does EcoStruxure™ IT Data Center Expert support data sovereignty? DCE is deployed entirely on-premises as a physical appliance or virtual machine, keeping all monitoring data within the customer's own environment — making it well-suited for regulated industries, government and Federal deployments, and air-gapped or mission-critical data centers with strict data residency requirements. Is a virtual machine (VM) trial available for DCE? Yes. EcoStruxure™ IT Data Center Expert is available as a time‑limited virtual machine (VM) trial, allowing customers and partners to evaluate DCE’s monitoring, alarming, and reporting capabilities in their own environment before purchasing. The VM trial can be deployed on supported virtualization platforms and is intended for evaluation and proof‑of‑concept use. What is an EcoStruxure™ IT Data Center Expert appliance? A DCE appliance is a pre-configured hardware server — available in Basic, Standard, and Enterprise models — that runs DCE software out of the box, scaling from hundreds to thousands of monitored nodes depending on the model. Customers can also deploy DCE as a virtual machine in their own environment for greater flexibility. Is there a maintenance contract available for DCE appliances? Yes. EcoStruxure IT Data Center Expert physical appliances offer optional 1-year maintenance contracts that provide hardware support, including repair or replacement services. Maintaining an active contract helps ensure continuous operation, minimizes downtime risk, and extends the usable lifecycle of the appliance.
